The main aim of the MINIATURA 3 project is the development of a new type hybrid mobile MOF based small-scale machines able to swim along predesigned tracks and control delivery of cargo. Mobile MOF materials (Metal-Organic Frameworks) are potential candidates for performing the functions of robotic platforms, e.g. in targeted drug delivery or nanosurgery. The proposed project will obtain magnetic helical microstructures coated with MOF materials that will be able to swim and follow complex paths under the control of external energy sources, such as magnetic fields.  MOF materials will provide the shell, responsible for trapping (encapsulation) of the anticancer drug agent and its release in a controlled manner.
