The project is an experimental study on the optical, electronic and catalytic properties of Metal Oxides (MO) nanostructures (TiO2, Fe3O4 and ZnO), coated with Polydopamine(PDA) and Its analogues(PDANA). The project aims to understand and explain the intricate changes in electron transfer at the interface of MO/PDA and MO/PDANA. The selected candidates will join a multidisciplinary and international team of researchers, working in close cooperation with partner groups in Poland, Spain and South Korea, including short-term visits to their facilities. Candidates will have access to state-of-the-art facilities for the characterization of nanomaterials such as: High Resolution – Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM), Energy Loss Electron Spectroscopy (EELS), X-rays diffraction and Ultraviolet/Infrared/Raman Spectroscopies.
