The project will concern atomic-scale studies of charge transfer phenomena in single-atom catalysts based on iron and epitaxial graphene. The main responsibilities of the PhD student will include preparation of model catalysts under ultra-high vacuum (UHV), performing low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies, taking part in scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/ STS), polarization-modulation infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy
(PM-IRRAS) and temperature programmed desorption (TPD) measurements, as well as analyzing and presenting the results.
